Meeting with a delegation from the “Mouvement Écologique”

Martine Hansen, Minister for Consumer Protection, welcomed a delegation from the “Mouvement Écologique”. This meeting was an opportunity to initiate a dialogue on the promotion of responsible consumption and concrete actions.

The subject of repairing has received particular attention. Indeed, the Directorate fir consumer protection carried out an investigation, in collaboration with SYVICOL, into the various incentives and financial aid available at the municipal level in the field of repair. The results of this survey were discussed at the meeting, highlighting the importance of promoting initiatives to extend the life of products and reduce waste. The minister also explained that the Directorate for consumer protection was analyzing the feasibility of introducing a repair bonus, as the future "right to repair" directive plans to introduce a new “right to repair” for consumers.

At the end of the meeting, the minister underlined the importance of this exchange and the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to provide consumers with the information they need to make informed choices.
