As of January 12th 2023, the Ministry for Consumer Protection has designated the Centre Européen des consommateurs GIE as the organism to host the European Consumer Center Luxembourg.

The Ministry for Consumer Protection has published a guide dedicated specifically to retailers. It explains, theme by theme, avoiding purely legal language, the obligations of professionals as specified in the Code of Consumption. Available in 3 languages, the guide can also be consulted on the ministry's website.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, the Chamber of Deputies voted on bill 7904 amending the Code of Consumption for the purposes of transposing directive (EU) 2019/2161, known as Omnibus. With the entry into force of this law, consumers will have their rights increased whether when shopping online or in stores.

The relevant authorities of Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland have adopted on the 26th of July the evolutions of the Nutri-Score algorithm for foods, drawn up by the scientific committee.

A control of payment service providers, organized by the Ministry for Consumer Protection, showed that the branches established in Luxembourg operate in compliance with the Consumption Code.
