Informal Meeting of Consumer Affairs

Paulette Lenert, Minister for Consumer Protection, took part in the informal ministerial meeting held in Bilbao on 24 July. The working sessions focused on the New Consumer Agenda 2020-2025 and the promotion of sustainable consumption. On the one hand, it is important to take stock of the New Agenda in order to design the future of consumer protection policy, particularly with regard to issues such as consumer vulnerability and artificial intelligence. On the other hand, consumers need to be given the means to become players in the ecological transition.
